"It requires a genuine fight to produce one well designed object of relatively permanent value."

 -George Nakashima

I am a custom woodworker and woodturner located in Lenoir, NC. I enjoy taking ordinary woods and making them into unique pieces of art. Nothing pleases me more than making things by hand and to see what lies beneath the bark of a tree.

I started wood turning in 2011 wanting to make baseball bats. That quickly changed to turning deer grunts, rolling pins and other spindle turnings which led me to wanting to turn bowls. I gave it a try and after my first one I was hooked. Now I turn on a regular basis and every day am honing my skills to produce the best and most unique designs possible. Though I am no pro I am blessed to be learning and constantly trying to stretch my design process.

I am getting more interested into turning burls specifically Cherry Burls. The uniqueness of the wood is what continuously draws me back to it. I turn a lot of Walnut, Cherry, Maple, Cedar and other locally harvested woods. I try and turn woods that would otherwise be buried, burned or discarded. I always let the wood be the deciding factor in the way the final piece will turn out.

I am looking for Galleries and Craft shops to carry my handmade bowls, clocks & birdhouses and if you know of any galleries or are one contact me anytime. Thank you stopping by and looking.

I set up every weekend on the roadside of 321 towards Boone, NC from Lenoir, NC. Look for the large slabs of Walnut, Cherry & Cedar and I set up there. I will be attending various craft shows and festivals this year and will post my schedule here.
